Adaptation of a sketch I had made of a red-breasted nuthatch perched on a small branch among tree foliage.

Sketch was transferred to a hard surface hard old linoleum, both positive and negative areas of the design were cut using traditional relief engraving hand cutting tools. Black oil-based relief printing ink was applied to the block surface with a brayer. Hand burnished using pressure image was transferred to the surface of Somerset 250 gm acid-free warm white rag. Professional artist watercolor paints were later introduced into white areas.
